Peer Mediation is
a program which provides students with the necessary skills and the opportunity
to explore positive options in settling their own problems.
The responsibility for resolving conflicts is placed in the hands of the
students themselves.
GOALS OF THE PROGRAM:

Enable
students to develop their communication skills.
·
Enable
students to understand that they do have positive options in resolving their
differences.
·
Emphasize
the development of creative problem-solving skills.
·
Accept the
responsibility for peacefully resolving their own problems.
·
Foster an
atmosphere where there is more tolerance for individual differences.
·
Provide an
arena conducive to the voluntary settlement of disputes.
Mediations are held in
room 143 Monday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday from 8:00 to 8:20 and Tuesday
from 8:00 to 8:45.
Students may complete
a referral form or see the mediators directly in room 143.
