Welcome to Peer Mediation!
by Mrs. Bernardi

Peer Mediation is a program which provides students with the necessary skills and the opportunity to explore positive options in settling their own problems.  The responsibility for resolving conflicts is placed in the hands of the students themselves.

GOALS OF THE PROGRAM:

·        Enable students to develop their communication skills.

·        Enable students to understand that they do have positive options in resolving their differences.

·        Emphasize the development of creative problem-solving skills.

·        Accept the responsibility for peacefully resolving their own problems.

·        Foster an atmosphere where there is more tolerance for individual differences.

·        Provide an arena conducive to the voluntary settlement of disputes.

Mediations are held in room 143 Monday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday from 8:00 to 8:20 and Tuesday from 8:00 to 8:45.

Students may complete a referral form or see the mediators directly in room 143.
