Social Studies

After re-vamping the Social Studies curriculum, we now have brand new books.  One series we are using is called Social Studies- United States History.  It incorporates history, geography, civics, economics, and culture.  Each student is required to cover his or her book as it will "travel" from the school to home. 

A second text called History Alive, is also used.  It allows students of all abilities to "experience" history through debates, skits, billboards, etc.  This class set remains in the classroom for all to use.

This year students will be studying many exciting topics. We will be studying Map Skills, the American Revolution, the Constitution, the Industrial Revolution, Westward Expansion, Slavery, the Civil War, and Immigration.
