English/Language Arts:

Students have a Think-Tac-Toe project due Monday, June 2nd (June 4th for E Block).

Book Talk Presentations are better than ever! Thank you, parents, for all the work that you do at home to help students make the most out of this assignment!

If you have Microsoft Office 2007, you have probably had problems saving your files and opening them at school. The picture below shows how to save your document properly.

You can usually find these devices for less than $20 at local stores.  Please contact me if you are considering purchasing one and need some advice. 

Please note: I DO NOT REQUIRE STUDENTS TO HAVE ONE. I do guarantee, however, that it will be very useful during an academic career.

Throughout Trimster 3, students will be bringing home ELA

assignments to be reviewed and signed by parents.

Please help out with this process by promptly returning assignments!

Book Talks will take place on the day when your class has ELA for ½ hour

E Block: Monday    

F Block: Tuesday

C Block: Wednesday

B Block: Thursday

You are responsible for a book talk on the day you have signed up for.

Revised Book Talk Rubric

HOMEWORK EVERY NIGHT:

    Read for 20-30 minutes (or more!).

Make sure you record how long you read every night,
so we can reach our goal of 9,000 hours for the year!!!

HOMEWORK DUE EVERY MONDAY:

Write the total amount of time (please convert minutes to hours) that you read for the
previous week
in your agenda and ask for a parent’s signature/initials.
 


Math:

This week we are working on a mini fraction unit.  We will be reviewing how to add, subtract, multiply and divide improper and mixed fractions.

POW         This is the last one to complete the Special POW.  There will be no POW next week.

Week of June 9th      

We are working on Reproductive system in class while student prepare for their presentation at home.  Students that complete all required assignments for the Reproductive System will not be required to take the test on Monday.  Majority of the assignments are started in class and require approximately 10minutes.  Group presentation of body systems start on Thursday.

Week of April 21st

Test: Friday (On Map and Vocabulary)

In class we are working on Westward Expansion and the diverse people of the West.  The students will be working in groups and developing a Skit to present their understanding of the different cultures and groups.
