Graph Rubric/Checklist

An accurate organized graph must include the following:

(Each is worth 2 points!)

1.       Clearly and appropriately labeled y and x axis. (Independent variable on x axis, Dependent variable on the y axis).

 

2.     Units should be also labeled correctly on each axis (ex.. minutes and degrees Celsius).

 

3.     Graph should be neat and easy to read. (Use a ruler and write clearly).

 

4.    Numbers should be labeled in even intervals (ex.. the spacing should be equal for ever 5 degrees).

 

5.  Data is plotted accurately.

 

6. There is a clear title that represents the data in the graph.

 

7.     A key is provided if necessary to distinguish between  different lines.

No errors in the graph. 

Data may be represented in an extra neat, colorful, or creative way.

All required parts are included in the graph.

One minor error (ones that don't take away from the understanding of the graph) may exist.

A few errors exist or there is missing information.

The graphs main idea can basically still be seen.

 

The graph has too many errors to make the information clear or understandable to the reader.
