STUDENTS WILL BE TAKING A TAKE HOME TEST IN RESPONSE TO THE BOOK THE ME NOBODY KNEW. THE CRITERIA SHEET AND RUBRIC ARE LOCATED UNDER THE CLASS HANDOUTS SECTION OF THIS WEB SITE. WE WILL NOT BE WORKING ON THIS IN CLASS, BUT STUDENTS MAY COME TO ME OR MRS. POTVIN FOR HELP. THEY ALSO HAVE ACCESS TO THE BOOKS DURING HOMEROOM. THIS IS AN IMPORTANT ASSIGNMENT AND STUDENTS MUST BE WORKING ON IT!
THE TAKE HOME TEST IS DUE TUESDAY, JUNE 3RD! I WILL NOT ACCEPT ANY LATE ASSIGNMENTS.
The students will then begin working on their Middle School Scrapbook final projects. This will be their final exam grade. I have already given two assignments that pertain to this project. Both are located on the web site. The criteria sheet and rubric for this assignment are posted under the class handouts page.

Ms. LeBlanc's students should all have their text books covered. Letters that were sent home to the parents should be returned before April 4, 2008. The class is currently working on The Byzantine Empire, comparing the Code of Justinian to the Western Legal system.

period students are working on Project Citizen. They are currently
choosing a problem to research and solve. They will begin library research
this week.
Math - Ms. LaBrie
Updated
After vacation in Connected Math, we will begin our review of Algebra 1 topics that were introduced last year. Signed numbers, multi-step equations, and ratio and percent problems will be discussed. Graphing calculators will assist us throughout this unit.
In Algebra 1 after vacation, we will begin Chapter 7, Solving Linear Inequalities. In this chapter, we will solve linear inequalities, graph solutions to linear inequalities, and use box-and-whisker plots to analyze data. Graphing calculators will assist us throughout this unit.
Science - Mrs. Milone (5/8/08)
Recently students have gotten back their Astronomy Final and their water model and writing piece. They also took their first Oceanography quiz today, and will get those back on Monday. At the end of the day tomorrow students will be turning in their ocean graphs.
NECAP Testing in Science will take place
on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Friday next week. It covers everything
students have been learning in Science for 6th, 7th, and 8th grade.
Students will be getting a review packet of Life Sciences to help refresh
their memories (Life Sciences are explored in 6th grade). Most will be
done in class this Friday, and Monday, but some will be homework over the
weekend.
