Welcome to the Panther Team
A message from the teachers:
Social Studies with Mr. Howman:

Welcome to Mr. Howman’s History class! Last year students explored early humans and the ancient civilizations of the Middle East, India, and China. This year, in 8th grade, students will explore ancient Greece and Rome. Then we will learn about aspects of the Medieval period. Every student is assigned a textbook that they are responsible for. Students must bring their textbook to class each day along with their 3-ring binder.
I encourage you to check my class website often for updates and class assignments. Please never hesitate in contacting me if you have a question, concern, or would like a progress update on your child!

Math with Ms. Mansour:
Welcome to Ms. Mansour's math class, I am looking
forward to a great year ahead. This year my main focus is to prepare
all
students for high school math . Students in Algebra 1 will be going into Algebra
2 in the ninth grade. Students in CMP will also study the first half of Algebra
1 and continue with Algebra 1B in the ninth grade. The successful student is the
organized student, I always stress that and encourage students to be
prepared for class while developing a good routine here in school
and at home. Forming good habits now will pay off in high school and in the job
market. Check my weekly update site and feel free to contact me at anytime if
you have a concern or would like a progress update on your child.
Science with Mrs. Graham:
ELA with Miss Middleton:

In ELA, vocabulary building, reading comprehension, and writing for a purpose will be the focus of instruction. Our students will be publishing a hard-cover book as well as a newspaper. Responding to literature will be in the form of "Quote Sandwiches". Please do not hesitate to contact me.
Resource with Mr. Dwelly:
The Panther Team is off to a great start. We are privileged to have a wonderful group of students on the team. They all appear to have made the transition to one middle school without much difficulty. My name is Mr. Dwelly and I am the Unified Learning Support Services (ULSS) teacher on the team. I have a classroom assistant, Mrs. White, who is here to support students in classrooms. Between the two of us we are in English, Math, Science, and Social Studies on a rotating schedule. I will also have an advisory group on Tuesdays during Lions Quest, as well as, skill groups on Wednesdays and Fridays mornings during homeroom. I look forward to working on the Panther Team with your children and you. You can contact by leaving a message on the team’s voice mail or by using the link on our web page.
