Students will:

·   Complete problems of the week in mathematics classrooms (POW).

·   Make connections as to how numeracy is connected to other content areas and the real world.

·   Actively participate in math skills/concept activities and games for a minimum of 20 minutes per week as determined by each team.

·   Reflect on and revise their work.

Teachers will:

· Intentionally connect their content to the math curriculum, to include POW, when possible.

· Explicitly make connections to the real world.

· Consider identifying a time to implement math activities/games within the week (as identified under “students will”).

· Provide students with opportunities to reflect on and revise their work.

Teachers will:

·     Collaborate with mathematics teachers to connect the math curriculum to their content area and the real world.

Teacher leaders will:

·     Math teachers will share their curriculum/learner expectations for upcoming units and they will support teachers in integrating numeracy into their instruction.

·   The numeracy action team will develop a template for CPT sessions in order to facilitate connections.

·   The math teachers will identify and organize math activities and games.

·   The math teachers will unroll and support content area teachers with the activities and games.

·   The numeracy action team will conduct two observation walks and write up a report regarding the math activities and games initiative.

·   Teams will meet on an in-service day to explicitly identify content connections to the math curriculum.
