Plan and Professional Development Plan

Professional
Development (PD) in support of Changing Instruction:
For each change
in instructional practice, detail the PD that will support making
those changes. Include:

Collaboration and
Support: For each major PD
program, describe how teachers will be provided opportunities for
ongoing collaboration and discussion regarding their PD and putting
it into practice.

Resources, School and
District: What school-wide
and district supports and resources will be necessary to implement
the PD? Indicate the source of funds for each program of PD. (e. g.,
Article 31, Title I, etc.).

Results/Reporting to Families and Community:

1. The Numeracy Action Team met on
October 19th for an in-service day to conduct a self-assessment and
develop the action plan/steps. A sub-committee met on November 20th
for an in-service day to develop the professional development plan
to support the implementation of the action plan. The action team
will meet every other month to monitor and implement, and self
assess the Action Plan.
2. Kevin
Seekell, Math Curriculum Coordinator, and Jeannine Magliocca, SALT
Liason, facilitated the development of the in service days.
3. The PD was scheduled for October
19th and November 20th. We will meet every
other month on the first Monday of that month. Faculty meetings, CPT
meetings, and department meeting will be utilized as needed.
4.
The implementation of the PD will be monitored by SIT and the
Numeracy Action Team on a monthly basis. |
The School Improvement Team and the
Numeracy Action Team meet monthly to implement and assess the plan.
Teachers meet during CPT, department, and faculty meetings to engage
in professional conversations, participate in and reflect on
professional development. |

Mathematics NECAP Assessment Results, SALT Survey Results, CPT logs,
Analysis of Student Work
2.
The Action Team and school administrators will be
responsible for organizing the evaluation.
3.
They will take place on a monthly basis.
Completion will culminate in June, 2008. |
